Practical information!

We’re only a couple of days away from SERVSIG 2016! We hope you’re packing your bags and are getting ready to travel to Maastricht. The weather is supposed to get better from Saturday onwards, so let’s hope for some of that Maastricht sunshine!

We would like to provide you with some last-minute practical information, some of it you may have already seen or heard, but just to be sure that we don’t miss anything. Here you find a digital copy of the conference program with a lot of practical information. You’ll receive a physical copy upon registering, so no need to print it!

  • Venue: The main conference venue is Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics, situated at Tongersestraat 53 in Maastricht. The pre-registration and opening reception on Friday, June 17th, take place at La Bonbonnière, Achter de Comedie 1, Maastricht.

  • Program: The program for SERVSIG2016 is available! Have a look here: http://servsig2016.com/program-details/

  • Hotel: There are still some rooms left for select hotels via our booking partner, be quick! http://servsig2016.com/hotels/

  • Taxi / airport shuttle: Jacobs Bus & Travel prepared a webshop where SERVSIG 2016 attendees can conveniently book an airport shuttle or private taxi for an attractive price. Book your shuttle here

  • Pre-conference workshops: If you registered for one of the three pre-conference workshops (R, PLS and Service Innovation) on Friday, June 17th, we hope to welcome you at Tongersestraat 53 (Maastricht University School of Business and Economics) at 08.30 for registration and welcome.

  • Practical information for presenters:

    • If you’re presenting a poster, the maximum size is A1 (594x841mm, portrait). For regular presentations, we advise you to bring your slides on a USB stick.

    • If you would like to present from an Apple computer, please bring a VGA connector!

    • The beamers support 16:10 aspect ratio for your slides (widescreen). If you prepared your slides in the regular PowerPoint format (4:3) already, that’s not a problem, it will just show black bars on the side.

  • Social media: Find us on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news! If you’re posting about SERVSIG 2016, use the hashtag! #SERVSIG2016.

  • Social dinner Sunday: On Sunday we will have dinner at the Caves of Kanne. Regardless of the weather outside, the caves are always a bit chilly, so bring something warm. Comfortable shoes are recommended, it’s difficult to navigate the caves on high heels! We will remind you several times, but because it’s so important: buses depart Sunday at 18.30 sharp! More information in the conference program and during the conference.

  • Hotel pick-up service: If you’re staying in one of the conference hotels, you can use the pick-up service on Saturday morning only. One of our colleagues will be waiting in the hotel lobby to walk with you to Tongersestraat 53. Please be on time, the conference schedule is tight so we will leave punctually! Find the list with hotels and times here

  • Ramadan: we reserved two separate rooms for people partaking in the Ramadan to retreat. If you would like to use these rooms, please inform us at the Conference desk!

  • WiFi: WiFi is available at the main conference venue (Tongersestraat 53), you can request a personal account when you’re here by following the instructions here. There is no WiFi during the opening reception, conference dinner and social dinner, but we’re sure you will have a great time nonetheless!

  • Soccer / Euro 2016: On Saturday and Sunday, the 15.00h matches will be broadcast at the conference venue. During the conference dinner on Saturday, you will also be able to watch the 18.00h and 21.00h matches in the bar. The opening reception on Friday and closing dinner on Sunday have no facilities for watching the games.

We wish you a safe and pleasant trip, and hope to welcome you in Maastricht later this week! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Kind regards,

The SERVSIG 2016 Organizing Committee
